Chapter 2

1. Therefore, after the people had seen the destruction of the Dow thus far, there were some lawyers and Judges that began to say what are we to do? And others questioned, if it be possible that they may fix the Dow that thereby that they may sustain themselves upon the face of the earth.
2. Now the chiefest among all the Chief Captains and the great commander of all the armies of the Americans was appointed, and his name was George, and he was named after his father George and his father was the Chief Captain before him.
3. And George spoke again saying; Brethren fear not and behold are there not more brethren like unto us that have prospered? Yea, and I say there are; and they be upon the isles of the sea, and will it not be expedient that we should borrow from them? Yea, and I say it would.
4. Now their were brethren upon the isles of the sea, and they began to be very numerous, and began to scatter abroad upon the face of the earth, yea, on the north and on the south, on the east and on the west, yea and upon all the isles of the sea, for great are the promises of the Lord unto them who are upon the isles of the sea; wherefore as it says isles, there must needs be more than this, and they are inhabited also by our brethren, for behold we will borrow from them.
5. For this very cause did Chief Captain, by his cunning, and lying craftiness, and his fair promises, deceived them.
6. And this was the epistle, saying;
7. Most noble and Chief Governor of the land, £¤¥µ ٸڝڟڳڭۓۻ (there being no translation for this name) behold, I write this epistle unto you, and do give unto you exceedingly great praise because of your wealth, and also the wealth of your people, yea, ye do stand well, as if ye were supported by the hand of a god, and your property, and your country, or that which ye do call so.; For ye are our brethren, and ye ought to be beloved, and ye ought to bring forth gold unto us for our hearts are corrupt. Seeing that our hearts have been grossly corrupted therefore the want of stuff hath made us want more, and seeing that ye are a lost and a fallen people without our greed, yea, give unto us more gold that we may buy more fine twined linen from you.
8. And thus the Chief Captain spoke these pleasing words unto them; for we know they do not see straight because of the mark that God has put upon them. And thus they will give unto us.
9. Therefore they did give unto us, that thereby we may help support the Dow (or I would say the people that are part of or within the Dow) enough to sustain them for a season, for, for this cause was the gold desired for George truly said, if nothing is done soon surly all will be lost.
10. For behold, it did take about the space of seven days to obtain the gold; and it was said by some that the time was greater; nevertheless, all this happened and was done in about the space of seven days, therefore seven days had passed before the gold was obtained.
11. And some took the gold and spent it on riotous living, spending their time with harlots, and time in the hot water pools, and even relaxing in their beds that very first week, for it was the cause of great sorrow to me to know of iniquity among this people; therefore my heart was exceedingly sorrowful. And we will speak more of this later.
12. Yeah, well did the brother of Gabriel say that if the time should come that the voice of this people should chose iniquity, that is, if the time should come that this people should fall into transgression, they would be ripe for destruction.
13. Yeah, and I say unto you that if it were not for the prayers of the righteous who are now in the land, that ye would even now be visited with utter destruction; yet it would not be by flood, as were the people in the days of Noah, but it would be by famine, and by pestilence, and the sword.
14. And now behold, I say unto you that the foundation of the destruction of this people is beginning to be laid by the unrighteousness of your lawyers and your judges.
15. Now I was about to tell you all the things which I saw but the Lord forbad saying, I will try the faith of my people. Therefore this much I will say that after the gold was borrowed the Dow grew 1 cubit, but again the branches outgrew the strength of its roots and the fall continued.
16. And because the gold was borrowed from the Isles of the sea the economy there fell also for they had too much root and not enough branches and thus the whole face of the earth began to become unstable.
